EBONYI HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT: 300 TO PROCEED OVERSEAS FOR MASTERS, PH.D, 700 OTHERS IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES -NWIFURU
Abakiliki – Governor Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has reiterated hid resolve to expedite the state’s Human Capital Development.
According to the Governor, who has impressed even his critics with his commitment towards changing the Ebonyian narrative in terms of Education and Human Capital Development; “The world is evolving very fast and I want Ebonyi to be ahead of other States”.
Nwifuru made the assertion on Tuesday while receiving the interim report on submitted applications for the state’s scholarship scheme, from the Chairman and Members of Ebonyi State Scholarship Board.
After commending the board for doing a thorough job, he announced that 300 students will travel to various institutions abroad for their Masters and Doctorate degrees, while 700 students will have theirs here in Nigeria.

“Yesterday, I received an interim report on submitted applications for our scholarship scheme, from the Chairman and Members of Ebonyi State Scholarship Board.
They have done a thorough job so far in distilling the applications, marking out those who are qualified from the others. In re-iterating our commitment to sharpening our human resources for a better Ebonyi State, we maintain that 300 students will travel to various institutions abroad for their Masters and Doctorate degrees, while 700 students will have theirs here in Nigeria.
I have directed the Board to move immediately and begin to make contacts with various institutions in that regard. They are to be swift with other sundry preparations as well. Our concentration will be on those who have applied and are genuinely qualified. It is our intention to flag off the program next month, while their studies begin in May, 2024.
The world is evolving very fast and I want Ebonyi to be ahead of other States.
