HON ANI, ANINRI WEST ADMINISTRATOR ALLEGEDLY OWED 14 MONTHS SALARY GIFTS INDIGENT WOMEN NEW YEAR PALLIATIVES

Awgu – Hon Israel Odinaka Ani, Administrator, Aninri West Local Development Council, Enugu State on Sunday distributed palliatives to indigent women and widows within the council.

Hon Ani, popularly called Ngige Aninri by his teeming supporters preceded the event with a Thanksgiving service at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Obuegu, Uhueze-Nenwe accompanied by his wife, children, family, friends and well-wishers.

In his address, the celebrant said the Thanksgiving was his own way of expressing gratitude to God for his favours in the past year while asking for his guidance and blessings in the New Year.

“I plead with our mothers and women to accept this little token from me. What matters is not the quantity of what was given but the heart with which it was given.

“I’m not in competition with anyone. Myself and my wife, we just wanted to remember you in this new year with the little we have. We ask for your prayers and I assure you that by God’s grace, next year’s event(sharing of New Year palliatives) shall be much bigger.

“I equally thank my dear wife, Osodieme, for her support without which this wouldn’t have been possible. Equally, I appreciate my mother and my siblings, especially my elder brother, Hon Emmanuel Ani”

Rev Cannon Maxwell Mgbemena, the Vicar, Emmanuel Anglican Church, Obuegu, Uhueze-Nenwe/Archdeacon, Nenwe Archdeaconry kickstarted the event held at Hon Ani’s compound with a soul stirring and evocative prayer session, urging God Almighty to continually protect and promote his son(Hon Ani) in his political career since he had deemed it pertinent to remember the less privileged in Nenwe, within the capacity of his lean resources.

Ngige Aninri and his lovely wife, Osodieme Lucy Ngozi Israel-Ani, then handed over bags of rice and wrappers to about fifty women chosen from the four quarters of Nenwe (Aninri West Local Government Development Council).

Some dignitaries and stakeholders present at the event include Mazi Emmanuel Uchenna Nworie, President General, Uhueze-Nenwe Autonomous Community, Hon Ugochukwu Okoro, Former Leader, Aninri Local Government Legislative Council/ former Councillor, Nenwe Ward 3, Chief Stephen Ogbonna (Ejim Ogbuevi), Chairman, Obuegu Community, Uhueze-Nenwe.

Others include Rt Hon Osita Nwachukwu, former Leader, Aninri Legislative Council, Hon Mrs Victoria Chukwu, Women Leader, PDP Nenwe Ward 3 and Mrs Perpetual Chukwu, Women Leader, Uhueze-Nenwe Autonomous Community.

Mazi Emmanuel Uchenna Nworie, President General, Uhueze-Member commended Ngige Aninri for finding it worthwhile to remember the indigent and the less privileged in the society.

He described Ngige Aninri as a worthy son of Uhueze-Nenwe, who has done marvelously well since his inception of office at Nkwụ Ezha, Nenwe as Administrator, Aninri West Local Government Development Council.

Chief Stephen Ogbonna commended Ngige Aninri for the kind gesture, wondering how he could afford to do such despite being allegedly owed 14 months salary as Administrator.

Ogbonna then urged him never to relent despite any challenges he might be facing since there was surely better days ahead for him under the Government of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, who had assured Ndị Enugu that the tomorrow they had all been praying for is finally here.

According to Hon Ugochukwu Okoro, former Leader, Aninri Legislative Council:

Rt. Hon Israel Ani is a close ally and incidentally was my Predecessor as a Councillor of Nenwe ward three. He is a dependable ally that I hold in very high esteem.

“The event was a huge surprise to me and leaves a huge indelible mark. The joy on the faces of these widows was the hallmark of an unforgettable experience on their lives.

“I will like to see more of these philanthropic gesture amongst our leaders, no matter how little. These will go a long way to make the masses feel loved and truly cared for.”
