IWD: HON OKEY JOE FOUNDATION TO EMPOWER 1000 WOMEN, GIRLS, DONATES LAPTOPS, CASH TO BENEFICIARIES

Lagos – On Saturday, 9th March, 2024, Hon Okey Joe (HOJ) Foundation held an action packed event tagged Count Her In at PEFTI Event Centre, Joy Avenue, Osolo Way, Off Murital Muhammed, International Airport Road, Lagos, in commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day.

During his speech at the event, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Hon. Okey Joe Onuakalusi, stated that the Foundation was planning to empower about 1000 women and girls with various trainings opportunities as the HOJ Foundation marks the International Women’s Day celebration with the theme “Count Her In”. 

Speaking further Hon Onuakalusi states that HOJ Foundation has the uncommon passion of rendering a helping hands to the women and girls in all ramifications because of the heavy challenges women and girls go through on a daily basis adding that HOJ Foundation in counting her in provides equitable opportunities for women and girls to grow to their full potential and fertility their abilities to lead, learn and earn. 

He states that HOJ Foundation do largely know what hefty challenges women and girls generally go through, hence, HOJ Foundation is standing in the gap to bridge and add comfort et’al to all women and girls. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, the convener of HOJ Foundation International Women’s Day Mrs Uchenna Ofomata states that HOJ Foundation is a huge blessing to humanity mostly women and girls adding that HOJ Foundation has assiduously, pragmatically, objectively and effectively affected women and girls in several areas of life. 

She states that as the convener of this year International Women’s Day, that she is personally praying for Hon. Onuakalusi for God of Prophets and Apostles to continue to shield and provide for him so that he too from his end shall continue to radically and positively render a helping hand to women and girls in all ramifications. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, Special Assistant on Media to Hon. Onuakalusi, Hon. Chucks Nwosu, a former reporter at the Guardian Newspapers states that HOJ Foundation is actually providing happiness, et’al to women and girls adding that his assertions are not political statements which some politicians are in the habit of delivery deceptions to the downtrodden masses. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, Business Development Strategist, Prince Constantine of Gadget Hub, one of the sponsors of the HOJ Foundation celebration of International Women’s Day adding that he is consistently sponsoring their yearly event and he also states that he shall continue to sponsor the event because he believes in the ideas and ideals of HOJ Foundation. He says that he wishes all women and girls a cheering and happy celebrations of International Women’s Day. 

Speaking with journalists, Bello Suliat, one of the beneficiaries of the HOJ Foundation largesse states that her joys know no bounds as she is now a graphics and website designer owing to the free trainings she received from HOJ Foundation. She states that her prayers are that God of Heaven and Earth shall continue to protect and provide for Hon. Onuakalusi eternally.

In his speech, Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji,MNSE, COREN, the Executive Director of the Foundation stated that, “In line with the foundation’s motto – Show the light and the people shall find their way, the Founder of the Foundation, Hon Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, even before becoming a member of the House of Representatives, had always thought of helping the less privileged and giving back to the society. As such, this foundation is his own way of making the world a better place. “However, we must not wait till we become members of the House of Reps. before we start helping others. We are all candles and should spread the light in our various families and communities by lending a helping hand to one another”.

He equally stressed that the foundation had several other programs in the offing but chose to start with a program to commemorate the International Women’s Day due to the great importance it attaches to women and womanhood.
